Carolyn Cain Scholarship

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. is a community-conscious, action oriented organization. Since its inception in 1931, the Iota Zeta Chapter has provided services and support to the community. One of our major thrusts is scholarship, which has been the impetus for awards averaging $500 to $2,000 per year to deserving high school seniors.

The Carolyn Cain Scholarship is in honor of Iota Zeta Charter Member and past Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. National Scholarship Chair, Carolyn Cain. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist graduating high school seniors in obtaining a college education and to promote Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. This scholarship targets under-represented minority students (African-Americans, Latinos and Native Americans) who are currently high school seniors in the Indianapolis Metropolitan area.

Award Amount: Minimum $500.00

Application Deadline: March 30 Annually

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Female
  • Resident of Indianapolis, Indiana or surrounding areas (including Lafayette and West Lafayette)
  • Graduating High School Senior
  • Pursuing an Undergraduate Academic Degree
  • Cumulative Grade Point Average 3.0/4.0 – 4.0/5.0 Scale

Estella Caldwell IPS Scholarship

The Estella Caldwell Scholarship is in honor of Iota Zeta Member Estella Caldwell.  Ms. Caldwell was a retired teacher who served Indianapolis Public School students for 28 years before her retirement. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist graduating high school seniors in obtaining a college education and to promote Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. This scholarship targets under-represented minority female students (African-Americans, Latinos, Asian, Native Americans, etc.) who are currently high school seniors attending Indianapolis Public Schools.
 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Female
  • Resident of Indianapolis, Indiana attending Indianapolis Public Schools
  • Graduating High School Senior
  • Pursuing an Undergraduate Academic Degree
  • Cumulative Grade Point Average 3.0/4.0 – 4.0/5.0 Scale
